The company would like to recruit a Pit Foreman to be based at Gugulethu Colliery within the Msukaligwa Local Municipality.

SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • Grade 12

  • 3-5 years in a similar role

  • Excellent problem-solving skills

  • Valid driver’s licence

  • Knowledge of opencast mining management and practices

  • Competent A Certificate

  • Dewatering practices and management of pumping team experience

  • Opencast Blasting Certificate essential

  • Supervisory Certificate

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of pit operators

  • Ensure compliance with safety policies and procedures

  • Conduct safety inspections and risk assessment

  • Plan, organise and monitor the production process to meet the production targets

  • Ensure optimal plant utilisation & availability

  • Shift line-up and hand-over

  • Management of pit dewatering strategies

  • Technical supervision

  • Liaise with maintenance team to ensure equipment availability
