Certificates Handover Ceremony at ABET Center at Hakhano Colliery
Trainees have received their certificates from the ABET Center at Hakhano Colliery
Canyon Coal, which is a mining company that has operations and projects in Mpumalanga and Gauteng provinces, opened a training center for adult basic education on 31 May 2017. The 1st group identified for this program started their training in the month of May 2017 and finished during June 2016. The program duration of 120hrs focused on various development subjects within literacy and numeracy benefitting the learners.
19 people, from the communities surrounding Singani Colliery, were trained. Through continuous training Canyon Coal is hopeful that these trainees would be able to enter the Job Market, each one of these trainees will continue with the ABET program and be developed to the next level. The training is currently being conducted by Triple E Training at the Canyon Coal ABET training centre.
As per Canyon Coal’s commitments in the Singani Colliery’s social and labour plan (SLP), the training forms part of the integrated Human Resources Development Programme which seeks to maximize the productive potential of people involved.
Canyon Coal is a junior coal mining and exploration group of companies with operations in the Mpumalanga and Gauteng provinces of South Africa, as well as various exploration projects all over South Africa.
