The company would like to recruit a Mechanical Engineering Foreman to be based at to be based at Gugulethu Colliery within the Msukaligwa Municipality.  

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

• Grade 12

• Diesel Mechanical Trade

• English proficiency

• Valid driver’s license

• Must have a strong electrical background in mining medium-voltage electrical reticulation network and systems.

• Must have a strong technical knowledge of earth moving machinery (VOLVO, CATERPILLAR, JCB and SGDL will be advantageous)

• Competent A (advantageous)

EXPERIENCE

• Minimum of 4 years relevant supervisory experience

• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in open-cast mining as an Engineering Foreman

OTHER SKILLS/COMPETENCIES

• Physically fit and able to pass a medical/fitness test

• Must have a clear criminal record and willing to undergo criminal check

• Sound communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to operate without supervision and be able to work under pressure

• Be a self–starter and able to work according to targets / deadlines

MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Ensure optimal TMM utilisation & availability

• Ensure TMM/equipment Troubleshooting and diagram interpretation

• Ensure compliance with safety and quality policies, procedures, and standards

• Shift line-up and hand-over

• Technical supervision
