The company would like to recruit two Diesel Mechanics at Gugulethu Colliery, located within the Msukaligwa Municipality. 

Skills & Qualifications

• Must have Diesel Mechanic Trade

• Technical Degree a plus

• Must have Code 10 driver’s license

Experience

• Minimum of 3 years’ experience as diesel mechanic on earth moving equipment repairs and maintenance

• Minimum 1 year mining experience

Other Skills & Competencies

• Willing to work shifts, nightshifts, weekends and public holidays.  

• Knowledge of technical aspects of heavy vehicles 

• Successfully complete medical evaluation  

• Absolutely NO previous criminal record 

• Ability to perform routine Inspections  

• Solid understanding and adherence to safety and environmental standards  

• Ability to work independently, under pressure and multitask 

• Must be willing to work shifts and overtime as requested by the Management 

• OEM (Original Engineering Manufacture) previous training such as CAT and Volvo would be advantageous 

• Must be willing to work shifts 

• Must be physically fit and energetic. 

Duties & Responsibilities

The duties will include but not limited to:

• Assist in ensuring that all TMM equipment and installations meet the required designs, installation, and maintenance standards.

• Ensure that all assessments of potential hazards of the operation of equipment and installations are undertaken in accordance with procedures.

• Maintenance and repairs of all TMM equipment in the open cast mine, specifically with regards to the following: ADTs, Excavators, Graders and Dozers, pit pumps and lighting plants

• Ensure that equipment is safe and suitable for use in the opencast mine.

• Align with planned maintenance, including the maintenance of relevant records for all Diesel Mechanic equipment and installations in responsibility.

• Adherence to policies and procedures.

• Ensure effective communication to relevant stakeholders to minimise production delays.

• Upholding of safety, health, and environmental standards to achieve ZERO HARM.
